Police Log Sept. 9: Terroristic threats, theft, crashes

Media Barracks

State police from the Media barracks said they arrested a 53-year-old man from Drexel for making terroristic threats against a 36-year-old man from Landenberg. Police did not identify either the suspect or victim in the report.  The incident took place in Chadds Ford Township at the end of August. According to the report, multiple witnesses observed and heard the suspect threaten to kill the victim. Police are continuing the investigation.

Pet Smart — at 800 Hatton Drive in Concord Township — was the victim of retail theft on Aug. 21. A police report said someone stole more than $350 worth of dog food and pet supplies, then fled in a red Hyundai Sonata.

A 49-year-old woman told police that about $400 were taken from her purse while visiting a family member at Maris Grove sometime between Sept. 1 and Sept. 4.

Avondale Barracks

Christopher J. Sawyer, 30, of Newark, was cited for following too closely following a two-vehicle crash on Route 1 near Route 82 on Aug. 21, police said but didn’t release details of the accident.

Police cited a 17-year-old female involved in a single-car crash in Pocopson Township on Aug. 29. The accident happened on Northbrook Road north of Route 842. The report said the Honda Civic the teenager was driving went off the right side of the road as the driver was trying to negotiate a left-hand curve. The car stopped after hitting a fallen tree.
