Swim evaluations at YMCA

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is offering free water safety and swim evaluations at two branches – the Kennett Area YMCA, 101 Race Street, Kennett Square, and the West Chester Area YMCA, 605 Airport Road, West Chester - on Tuesday, June 11 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Swimming evaluations offered on June 11.

With pools opening and summer right around the corner, the YMCA wants you to be prepared. Accidental drowning is the leading cause of death in children ages one to four years old, and the second leading cause of death in children five to 15 years old. To help parents identify their child’s comfort level in the water, the Y is offering these free evaluations for kids of all ages.

The YMCA’s certified swim instructors will assess your child’s swim skills and determine the next skills he or she needs to master. Instructors are also able to tell you the appropriate swim lesson level for your child if you are interested in YMCA swim lessons during the summer.

Registration for the evaluations is requested, but not required. A YMCA membership is not required, but to attend, all guests over the age of 18 need to show a valid photo ID.

The YMCA has been America’s leading swim instructor for more than 100 years and is the most accessible community resource for swimming lessons and water safety. To register, go here.
