Perry Roger Mahaffy Jr., of Pennsbury Township, died Friday, Oct. 28, at Keystone Villa at Ephrata.

He was born Aug. 28, 1938, in Warren. Perry will be remembered as a storyteller, a person of faith in a great God, an avid sportsman, and a genuine caregiver to all whom he encountered.

In 1962, Perry married Veronica Lois Holmer at Epworth United Methodist Church in Warren. They shared over 60 years of marriage together.

Perry was employed as a nurse and hospital administrator throughout his career at Genex Services, The Philadelphia Psychiatric Center, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Baltimore City Hospital, Mercy Catholic Medical Center, Hamot Medical Center, Warren State Hospital, and SUNY Buffalo. He served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy and performing active duty from 1966-1968 at Chelsea Naval Hospital in Chelsea, Mass.

Perry was very active in many local charities but was most honored to serve as an elder at Grace Fellowship Church.

Perry graduated from Warren Area High School in Warren, University of Buffalo School of Nursing in 1962 where he met his wife, and Yale University School of Nursing in 1964. Perry attended Temple University School of Law in 1984.

Perry is survived by his wife, his four children and their spouses, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kathleen and his brother Paul.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church. 922 Wawaset Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
