State police are investigating the theft of Dove body wash from the CVS store on Route 1 in Concord Township. The report did not include any suspects' descriptions or details on the incident beyond the fact that it happened between 9:40 and 9:43 a.m. on July 12.

A 47-year-old woman in Chadds Ford was almost a victim of a bad check. Police said the woman was selling a painting on line and received a check in the mail. However, the check was bad. But the victim never sent the painting before receiving the check.

Police said they cited a 39-year-old woman from Carney’s Point, N.J. for DUI, following a traffic stop on Route 322 at Evergreen Drive in Concord Township on July 24. The stop happened at 8:04 p.m.

The Covenant Fellowship Church at The Marshall House on Fellowship Drive in Concord Township was vandalized on July 10. Police said someone entered the property and smashed seven windows. Damage is estimated at $7,000.

Police arrested a 43-year-old man from Camden, N.J., for DUI, on Smthbridge Road at Fawn Lane on July 25. The driver was not identified in the report. Police said they responded to a one-vehicle crash at 8:41 p.m. and found the driver exhibiting signs of impairment and intoxication.

A traffic stop led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man from Dover in Concord Township on July 28. The report said police made the stop after the 2007 Lexus was seen being driven erratically and found the driver under the influence of marijuana. The driver was not identified.

Witold Czajkowski, 73, of West Chester, was cited for his involvement in a parking lot accident at the Wawa on Route 1 in Concord Township on July 24, shortly after 8 a.m., police said. According to the report, Czajkowski turned left into the driver's side of a car that was pulling into the lot. He also initially fled the scene, but later returned, police said.

Police said they arrested Keith Johnson, 46, and Michele Minniti, 32, both of Coatesville, on theft charges. The two allegedly stole merchandise from Wegmans in Concord Township.

Southern Chester County Regional Police

James P. Brown, 30, of New Castle, was charged with strangulation, simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment, following a domestic disturbance, according to a police report. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 28, at 8:07 p.m., in the 400 block of Newark Road in New Garden Township. Police said the victim told them that Brown threatened to shoot her prior to hitting her in the face and placing both his hands around her neck, applying pressure, making it difficult to breathe. Brown was taken into custody and transported to Chester County Prison for processing and arraignment. He was committed after failing to post bail, the report said.
