• The next monthly meeting of the Chadds Ford Business Association is noon Thursday, Dec. 5 at The Gables. The guest speaker will be Leah Reynolds, the executive director of the Kennett Area Community Center. The CFBA is also collecting food for the Kennett Food Cupboard, which is run by the Community Center. The cupboard lost 50 percent of its food because of an electrical fire last month. Donations in the way of canned food, a $25 Giant Gift card or a check made payable to KACS are requested. The cost for the luncheon is $25 for CFBA members, $35 for nonmembers. • Iron Hill Brewery & restaurant is launching Brew with a Legend, a regional beer competition where homebrewers will vie for the opportunity to brew their signature recipe with craft beer pioneer and Iron Hill’s co-founder, Mark Edelson. Five winners will be chosen, one from each region in which Iron Hill operates, including Delaware, New Jersey, South Carolina, Central Pennsylvania and the Greater Philadelphia area. In keeping with Iron Hill’s tradition of community involvement, the winning beer will be available on tap with $1 per pint donated to the winner’s charity of choice as well as a dedicated Give 20, a fundraising evening where the selected non-profits can earn twenty percent of food sales. In addition to bragging rights, winning homebrewers will receive a $500 Iron Hill gift card and a sixtel of their prize-winning beer. Homebrewers must register online before Dec. 20, and can find a comprehensive parameter of rules and regulations, as well as the registration link here.

• The Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce will hold a Women in Business Breakfast 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Chester County Technical College High School. Preregistered members pay $15 and preregistered guests pay $20. The cost for walk-in members is $20 and walk-in guests pay $25. To register, go here.
