Stephen C. Stitsworth of West Chester

Stephen C. Stitsworth, 71, of West Chester, died March 9.

Stephen C. Stitsworth

Born in Indianapolis, Ind., he made his home in Philadelphia, after serving in the military. He was the son of the late Dale and Betty Stitsworth (nee Carl).

Stephen served in the United States Navy on the USS Taconic during the Vietnam War Era.

He was employed by SEPTA and spent 38 years as Director of various city rail locations including the Market-Frankford, Broad Street Subway, Elmwood Shop, and Norristown High-Speed Line.

He loved Philadelphia Eagles football, fishing, and visiting Rehoboth Beach. Stephen was a devoted family man who shared his free time with his wife and children.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was predeceased by his brother, William Stitsworth.

He is survived by his beloved wife Adele M. Stitsworth (nee Downs), his loving children James and Katherine Stitsworth, his siblings Stuart Stitsworth (his fraternal twin), Sharon Spicer, Diane Hardin and Henry Stitsworth, his grandson Roman Reid, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
