PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of Nov. 11 through Nov. 17. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones.
• Route 162 is scheduled to close next week between Brandywine Drive and Stargazer Road in Newlin Township, on Thursday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for pipe installation. During construction, Embreeville Road motorists will be detoured over Strasburg Road and Stargazer Road.
• Motorists in Chester County will encounter single lane closures next week on a pair of state highways for high-friction resurfacing operations. The work will be on Nov. 14 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Birmingham Road between Old Wilmington Pike and Route 52 in Birmingham and East Bradford townships, and on Unionville-Wawaset Road between Wawaset Road and Creek Road in Pocopson and East Bradford townships.
• Median and curb replacement will cause lane restrictions on southbound Route 202 at Pyle Road in Concord Township through Nov. 20
• There will be lane closures for utility installation on Westbourne Road between Street Road and Barnview Road in Westtown Township between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Nov. 13 through Nov. 20.
• Tree removal will cause lane restrictions on Garnet Mine Road between Woods Edge Drive and Bethel Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 13 through 17 in Concord and Bethel townships
• Curb installation on Bethel Road, between Smithbridge Road and Featherbed Lane, in Concord Township, will cause lane restrictions through Nov. 17.
• Median and curb replacement will cause daytime lane restrictions on Route 202 South at Pyle Road in Concord Township through Nov. 17.
• Bridge rehabilitation continues on Route 1 North and South between Route 41 and Newark in New Garden Township. Motorists should expect 24-hour lane closures through Nov. 17.
• Curb and sidewalk installation will cause lane closures on West Baltimore Pike between Penns Manor Road and Mill Street in Kennett Township from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. through the end of the year.
• Curb and sidewalk installation will cause lane closures on West Cypress Street Between Scarlett Road and Mill Street in in Kennett Township from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. through the end of the year.
• Curb and sidewalk installation will also cause lane closures on Rosedale Road between Walnut Street and MacFarlan Road through the end of the year.
• Barrier installation continues to cause indefinite 24-hour lane closures on Brandywine Creek Road, between Green Valley and Powell roads in Newlin Township.
