Sunset and S'mores at Mt. Cuba Center

It’s Sunset and S'mores at Mt. Cuba Center on Saturdays Sept. 16, 23, and 30 from 5-7 p.m. Bring the family out for a scenic hayride through Mt. Cuba’s stunning natural lands. Arrive at a bonfire where you can kick back and relax or explore your surroundings. Enjoy fireside snacks, s’mores, and adult and family-friendly beverages while the sun sets. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for children 2-17, and children younger than 2 get in free. Advanced registration is required; space is limited. Register and get tickets here.

The Unionville Community Fair & Farm Show is about to celebrate its 99th year. The Fair will be on Oct. 13 – 15, behind Landhope Farms at Routes 82 & 926. The Queen Pageant will be held on Sept. 28 at Unionville Elementary School. There will be a Tailgate at the Fair Kick-Off Fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 12 and Friday, Oct. 13 is Senior Sneak Peek Day when seniors are admitted free. The Brandywine Battlefield Park Associates’ Revolutionary Speaker Series resumes Saturday, Sept. 23, from noon to 2 p.m. at the park. The speaker is Andrew Outten, the historical programs manager of the Society of the Cincinnati and its American Revolution Institute in Washington, D.C. The program will focus on William Faden, one of the most influential British mapmakers in the late eighteenth century. After the presentation, guests can visit the Brandywine Battlefield Park’s exhibit gallery, join one or both afternoon tours, and enjoy some light refreshments. Tickets are $20 ($23.18 total with fees) per person and are available on Eventbrite Revolutionary Speaker Series.

Hedwig, the 1998 Obie-winning Off-Broadway smash that took Broadway by storm in its Tony Award®–winning 2014 revival roars into City Theater Company as part of its 30th anniversary season, running from Dec. 8-16, at The Wings Black Box at The Delaware Contemporary. The Chester County 4-H Archery Club will be holding an informational meeting on Sept. 12, at the Upper Oxford Community Park, from 4 to 6 p.m. The club will officially begin in October with meetings continuing throughout the year on the second Tuesday of every month. The purpose of this program is to introduce youth, ages 8 through 19, to the sport of archery. Youth will learn the basic rules of safety, proper equipment selection and care, different shooting techniques, and the equipment necessary to become a successful archer. Participants will develop the skills, knowledge, and attitude for safe shooting sports activities.
