The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop K, Media, Criminal Investigation Unit, is investigating allegations and information received regarding Daniel C. Waters, 57 years old, of Glen Mills. Waters has been charged with multiple felony criminal charges involving indecent sexual contact with minors, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, firearms charges, and other related charges. Waters is a high school teacher and baseball coach in the Chester City area. This investigation is involving juvenile students and baseball players. The state police are asking any victims or witnesses involving Waters to contact the PSP Media Station at 484-840-1000.

State police are investigating the reported theft of $743 worth of merchandise from Wegmans on July 7. A report said an unidentified man fled in a black KIA Sportage SUV with Maryland tag number 32740CK.

Rodney Godfrey, 29, of Philadelphia, was arrested for DUI following a July 8 single-car crash on State Farm Drive near Route 202 in Concord Township, a police report said. According to witnesses, the report said, the vehicle traveled off the roadway, down a small embankment, and into several trees. Police said the investigation and interviews revealed that Godfrey was driving in a careless and unsafe manner due to a level of impairment from a combination of alcoholic and controlled substances.

Someone stole $300 and three credit cards from a vehicle parked on Park Lane in Concord Township on July 11.

Police said they arrested a 24-year-old woman from West Grove for shoplifting at Wegmans on July 17. The report did not identify the suspect or indicate what was stolen.

Police are investigating a burglary in Chadds Ford Township on July 17. A report said someone stole a $4,200 Rambo Bushwacker 750 Camo Ebike from a garage on Ardmoor Lane.

An unidentified 44-year-old man from Philadelphia was arrested for DUI in East Marlborough Township on July 21. Police said they observed traffic violations and stopped the vehicle on Route 82. Field sobriety tests indicated impairment and the driver was taken into custody.

A 49-year-old woman from West Chester was arrested for shoplifting at the East Marlborough Township Walmart on July 21. The unidentified suspect is alleged to have stolen $441 worth of merchandise.

On July 20, an unidentified 37-year-old woman from Wilmington was arrested for shoplifting at the Walmart in East Marlborough. The report said she tried getting away with $488 worth of merchandise, but store security recovered the property.

An unidentified 29-year-old man from Falls Church, Va., was arrested for DUI in Kennett Township on July 16. Police said they made the stop on Route 1 at Lenape Road, but the report gave no reason for the stop.

Police said Melissa Caputo, 57, of Oxford, was arrested for DUI on July 14. The arrest was made after a traffic stop at a Sobriety Checkpoint on Route 1 at Lenape Road. The report said Caputo admitted to drinking alcohol and a field sobriety test showed impairment. The incident happened at 10:55 p.m.

A 45-year-old man from Kennett Square, not identified in the report, was arrested for DUI on July 15. A report said the driver was stopped for a traffic violation on Millers Hill in the borough. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and immediately smelled a strong odor emanating from the driver. Standardized field sobriety tests were given, and the driver showed signs of impairment.

Police said a 30-year-old man from Kennett Square was arrested for drug possession on July 19. The arrest came after a traffic stop for traffic violations at the intersection of N. Mill Road and Cedarcroft Road in Kennett Township. A THC vape pen was recovered from the Operator during this incident, and the driver showed signs of impairment after field sobriety tests. The driver’s name was not released.

Police arrested a 29-year-old West Grove man for DUI in Kennett Square on July 19. According to the report, police spotted a Kia Spectra with a broken taillight on Route 1 north at the Route 82 off-ramp. The vehicle slowed to 20 mph on the highway and was then observed swerving on 82. Numerous alcoholic beverage containers were seen in the car after the traffic stop. The driver, not identified, showed multiple signs of impairment, police said.

A 51-year-old man from Lincoln Highway was arrested and charged with retail theft at the East Marlborough Township Walmart. He reportedly stole $29 worth of bleach and paper towels.

Police said a 43-year-old man from Garnet Valley was arrested for DUI in Pennsbury Township on July 17. According to police, a traffic stop was initiated on Route 1 at Independence Way just after 11 p.m. and field sobriety tests indicated impairment. The driver was not identified in the report.
