Police Log March 30: Cash, car, iPad found; money stolen

PSP Logo 2• State police from Troop K, Media barracks, reported that loose currency was found on Cheyney Road in the vicinity of Mill Race Place on March 25. For more information, contact Cpl. Haines or Cpl. R. Malone at 484-840-1000.

• Police also recovered an abandoned, stolen vehicle on Route 1 at Evergreen Drive on March 29. The recovered vehicle was reported stolen out of Wilmington.

• Police are investigating a case of access device fraud that happened sometime during the first week in March. A report said a Chadds Ford man discovered $4,995 had been removed from his bank account.

• On March 27, at 1 p.m., state police recovered a 16 GB iPad in the area of Ring Road and Route 1 in Chadds Ford Township.

• Ryan Burns Cuba, 38, of Avondale, was arrested for DUI following a March 17 traffic stop on Route 1 near Creek Road in Chadds Ford Township, according to a police report.

• Police said Alfonso Lazaro Hijuilt, of Claymont, removed $450 from a woman’s purse at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Concord Township on March 18.

• A state police report said Blair S. Svihra Jr., 32, of Malvern was cited for following too closely in connection with a rear-ender accident on Route 202 near Naaman’s Creek Road on March 23. No injuries were reported.

• Lawrence E. Davis, 68, of Monroe, N.C., was cited for following too closely after an accident on Route 322 at Spring Valley Road on March 19, according to state police. A report said Davis failed to slow the truck he was driving and struck another vehicle that was stopping for traffic.

• A 21-year-old woman from Upper Chichester was arrested for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop in Chadds Ford Township. A police report didn’t identify the suspect, but said the stop was made on Ring Road at 8:04 p.m., on March 10.

• David Wayne Forrester, 55, of Kennett Square was accused of criminal trespass. A police report said Forrester entered the Walmart on March 5 even though he had been banned from the store on Schoolhouse Road in East Marlborough Township.

• A 44-year-old Pennsbury Township resident was the victim of criminal mischief. A police report said the drivers’ side windows of his car were damaged after being shot with an air rifle. The car was parked at a property in the 800 block of Fairville Road. The incident happened sometime between 5 p.m. on March 18 and 10:21 a.m. on March 19.

• Theft charges have been filed against a Kennett Square woman. A state police report said Angel Lynn Ross, 18, was seen removing grocery items from the Walmart store in East Marlborough Township on Feb. 8 at 2:11 p.m. without paying.

• Sometime between Monday, March 14, at 10 p.m. and Wednesday, March 23, at 8 p.m., someone entered a Newlin Township residence in the 100 block of Bailey Circle through a second-story window, said state police from the Embreeville barracks.  Police said multiple pieces of jewelry, an oil painting and glass vase were stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact the barracks at 610-486-6280.

•State police from the Avondale barracks said someone forced entry through a window at a residence in the 1300 block of Doe Run Road in West Marlborough Township sometime between Feb. 19 at 1:30 p.m. and Feb. 21 at 5 p.m. Money and the home’s surveillance system were reportedly stolen, police said.
• Police from the Avondale barracks are in possession of a multi-colored wallet with brown leather accents that contained cash and a Starbucks gift card. It was found in a shopping cart at the Walmart in East Marlborough Township on Saturday, March 26, police said.
