Comedian Jim McCue is live on stage Saturday, July 27, 8 p.m. at Uptown!

Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center presents Boston comedian Jim McCue live on stage Saturday, July 27 at 8 p.m. Jim performs across the country and around the world, making his appearance in West Chester, especially exciting as Uptown! strives to bring a wide variety of high-level talent to patrons from the PA-NJ-DE region. His work is described as a mixture of witty “A-list material” and his ability to work off-script has earned him the title “Boston’s King of Crowd Work!” No two shows are ever the same. Uptown! Local historian Gene Pisasale will be discussing the founding fathers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13 at the Historic Hale-Byrnes House, 606 Stanton-Christiana Road, in Newark.

• It’s hip hop meets jazz in KennettThe next free concert at Anson B. Nixon Park in Kennett Square is Wednesday, July 17  featuring Lowdown Brass Band from Chicago, Ill. LDB synthesizes the gritty sounds of Chicago with the high energy second-line street beat of the Crescent City.

WCU alumni young and old, once “the cream of the crop” of their class of musicians, will gather for the annual Criterions Jazz Ensemble Alumni Reunion Concert on Thursday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is FREE and open to the public in the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, Philips Memorial Building, 700 S. High Street, West Chester.

Saturday, July 20 is Christmas in July at Ware Presbyterian Village. The event features a large craft show, a silent auction of a handmade quilt and a food court. In addition to the crafts, lunch will be offered, a model train display will be ongoing and tools will be sold in the Ware Mansion. Crafters will exhibit quilted items, jewelry, hand-painted china, embroider items, pillows, wooden items, soap and more. The food court will offer Cheese, Wine, Jams and Jellies, local Honey,  Handmade Truffles and more. Proceeds from this event are used to enrich the lives of all residents of Ware Presbyterian Village including those in Stewart Place and the Oxford Health Care Center. Camp Chaddsford, an adult summer camp for wine lovers returns to the Chaddsford Winery on Saturday, July 20 and July 27. Outdoor activities include friendly team-based games like Corn Hole, Mad Libs, Case Box Challenge, Kickball, Volleyball, and Riddling Rack Toss. There’s also a Chaddsford tie dye tee shirt station where you can create a one-of-a-kind tee to take home, a build-your-own-burger bar lunch and a specially-curated wine tasting featuring exclusive wine cocktails from Chaddsford Winery. Times are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the winery located at 632 Baltimore Pike. Tickets are available to purchase online for $65.
