Trail Blazer Run next Saturday

On Saturday, June 16, East Bradford Township and CCWA - Paradise Farm Camps will host the seventh annual Trail Blazer Run.

This year’s race will take place on the Paradise Farm Camps property located at 1300 Valley Creek Road, Downingtown, PA 19335. There will be two events: a 5-mile trail run and a 1 ½-mile family fun hike.

All participants will enjoy exclusive access to Paradise Farm Camps’ extensive private trail network, spread out among 600 beautifully scenic acres, and will receive free race mementos including t-shirts, race towels, and goodie bags. Free water, bananas and snack packs will also be provided for the benefit and convenience of participants and there will be a post-race drawing of dozens of free door prizes ranging from gift certificates to gift bags and local venue tickets that have been donated by the many sponsors of the race.

All proceeds from the event go directly towards the East Bradford Township public trails program. The Township owns and maintains 16 parks and open spaces, consisting of over 600 acres. In addition, the Township owns and maintains a variety of recreational facilities, including over 20 miles of trails. East Bradford’s trail network is well used by residents throughout the region and certain trails within the Township contribute to the greater Philadelphia regional trail network known as the Circuit Trail system.

Victory Brewing Company is sponsoring a party after the race during which all participants will receive a free cold beer (root beer for minors). Victory will have additional food and beverage available for purchase.

Age divisions for the 5-mile trail run are 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Gift certificates will be provided for the first overall male and female along with a unique trophy plaque. Glass awards will be given for the top three finishers in all age groups, male and female. Age divisions for the 1 ½-mile family fun hike are 5 & under, 6-8 and 9-10. Awards will be given for the top three finishers in all three age groups, male and female. Age is determined the day of the race. Runners under 18 need a guardian present at the event.

Individual registration for the 5-mile trail run is $25 until June 15 and $30 on race day. Fixed team/family registrations are available for $75 (max. 4 participants). Open team registration is available. Individual registration for the 1 ½ mile family fun hike is $20 until June 15 and $25 on race day. Fixed team/family registrations are available for $50 (max. 4 participants). Only cash or checks can be accepted at registration on the day of the race.
