Richard “Richie” Joseph Stansberry (Stronz)


Richard “Richie” Joseph Stansberry (Stronz), 63, died
Sunday, Oct. 25, at Chester County Hospital after a long battle with lung
cancer.

Born
and raised in Kennett Square, he was the son of the late Joseph V. and Alta
Norris Stansberry. 

Richard
graduated from Kennett High School in 1964. He was employed in Maintenance for
the past 9-and-a-half years at St. Patrick’s School in Kennett Square. He was
fondly known as “Mr. Rich” by the school children. He was a member of the Army
National Guard, The American Leagion Post 491 of Kennett Square, and the
Italian American Citizens League. Richard played softball for many years with
the Sam Tavoni Softball League, coached baseball for the KAU, and played darts
for the Thorndale Fire Co. Brandywine League, Mason-Dixon Dart League, and the
Delaware County Leagues. He was also an avid golfer and die-hard Yankees,
Phillies, and Eagles fan.

 Richard
is survived by his wife of 36 years, Diane, his daughter, KerriAnne, his sons,
Christopher and Jason, 2 granddaughters, Jessica and Kayla, one brother, John,
of Kennett Square, and many nieces and nephews.

 In
addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his son Joshua, and stepson,
Michael.

 You
are invited to visit with Richard’s family and friends on Thursday, Oct. 29, from
8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street,
Kennett Square. His funeral will follow at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith
Street, Kennett Square. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

 In
lieu of flowers, a donation, to help defray funeral expenses, may be made to
Sovereign Bank, Attention: The Stansberry Fund, 313 West Cypress Street,
Kennett Square, PA 19348.
