Sara “Sally” K. Sharp of Chadds Ford

Sara
“Sally” K. Sharp,87, of Chadds
Ford, died on July 29, at her home. She was the wife of the late Alvin G.
Sharp, who died in 2005 and with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.

Born
in Chadds Ford, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Carrie Kipe.

Sara
graduated from Goldey Commercial College and worked at the DuPont Experimental
Station, Wilmington as a secretary, prior to marriage.

She
was a member of the Chadds Ford Historical Society, the Christian Sanderson
Museum, the Brandywine Battlefield Associates, and the Concordville Branch of
the N.G.A.

Sara
was an active member of the Brandywine Baptist Church in Chadds Ford for 72
years.

She
is survived by a son, Gary W. Sharp and his wife Mara of Chadds Ford, and by
two grandchildren, Jonathan Sharp and Sarah Sharp.

In
addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son
in 1948, a daughter, Diane in 1970, and a brother, George Brinton Kipe in 2003.

A
memorial service celebrating Sara’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday,
August 7 at Brandywine Baptist Church, 1463 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford.

Family
and friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the church.

Interment
will be private.

Box 162, Chadds Ford, PA 19317.
