The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC) will present its 3rd Annual AHMEC Girls Science Expo on Saturday, March 18, from 2 to 4 pm. The museum, located at 1220 American Boulevard, West Chester, will host the event in conjunction with its Women in Aerospace and Technology Program (WATP).

The exciting Expo offers participants in grades 3 through 12 an opportunity to present their science projects to the public. Registration is free and open to young women in three categories: Elementary (grades 3 to 5), Middle (grades 6 to 8) and High (grades 9 to 12) School. Download a registration form and guidelines from AHMEC’s website at www.americanhelicopter.museum.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation, and a participation letter will be sent to their respective schools. An awards ceremony will be held at 3:30 during which the first, second and third place winners from each age group as selected by visitors attending the Expo will be recognized.

“It’s a way to promote the wonderful scientific projects that girls in the area are doing,” explained Erica Zwilling, AHMEC Education Coordinator and WATP Director. "We are thankful to sponsors the Boeing Company, Bell Helicopter and Bentley Systems for their support of this year's Science Expo."

Museum admission is $7.00 per person and includes full access to AHMEC, as well as hands-on investigations in such fields as physics of flight, space, mechanical engineering and robotics. Contact AHMEC at 610-436-9600 for more information.

The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center, located in the land of industry innovators in the Philadelphia region, is the nation’s premier aviation museum devoted exclusively to helicopters. Established in 1996, the nonprofit organization collects, restores and displays rotary-wing aircraft, including over 35 civilian and military helicopters, autogiros and convertaplanes.
