Birmingham budget includes funding for battle re-enactment

Birmingham Township now has its budget for 2014 and $20,000 of the anticipated $2 million in revenue is earmarked for a planned commemoration of the 1777 Battle of Brandywine to be held at Sandy Hollow. Birmingham still needs supervisor; township pushes back against state

• Birmingham Township supervisors adopted a new cable franchise ordinance for its agreement with Comcast Cable. No figures were discussed, but Supervisors’ Chairman John Conklin said before the session that Comcast would increase its payment to the township to 5 percent. The company now pays 3 percent.
