With the United States just two months away from celebrating the 250^th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, it should be noted that in just more than a year and a few months later, there was the Battle of Brandywine. Gen. George Washington used this building, the Ring House at the Brandywine Battlefield Park, as his headquarters before the start of that battle. This structure is a rebuild after the original was burned down in a fire in the 1930s.

While the weather has been inconsistent these past few weeks, there have been a few days when the sky was clear, and blue skies punctuated the Brandywine Creek.
