Police Log April 22: Theft, suspended license

Police are only now releasing information about a theft on Maris Grove Way sometime last September. A reported $10,139 was stolen. According to the report, a former CVS employee tasked with depositing the lottery machine winnings was not depositing the total earnings that had been reported. Investigation is ongoing. 
Kennett Square Police Department
• Borough police said they arrested Donald Maxwell, 56, of Malvern, following a traffic stop on W. Cypress Street on April 11. According to the report, officers stopped the car because the vehicle’s registration was under a suspended driver, Maxwell. During further investigation, it was determined that Maxwell’s license clearly stated that he could only operate a vehicle with an installed interlock system. He was taken into custody for violating the operator restriction, processed, and later released pending issuance of a summons
• No name was mentioned, but at 6:35 a.m. on April 13, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had pulled out in front of the patrol vehicle and continued to speed down the roadway. Upon checking the driver’s information, a confirmed active bench warrant out of Chester County from 2002 was observed. He was taken into custody and transported to Chester County Prison.
• At 11:51 a.m. on April 16, while conducting a routine patrol in the area of Broad Street and Cypress Street, officers conducted a traffic stop on a Cadillac bearing a registration that returned to an Acura. Upon further investigation, multiple traffic citations and a non-traffic citation for disorderly conduct were issued for the THC vape located inside the vehicle. No names were given.
• Borough police conducted a traffic stop in the 200 Block of N. Garfield Street for a vehicle displaying no emissions or inspection stickers on April 10. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle operator had provided police with false identification and that a wallet containing several IDs was located inside the vehicle. The operator was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking at Chester County Prison. No names were given.
