Police Log Sept. 24: DUI, hit-and-run, lewdness

Vincent Zacchei, 31, of Glen Mills, was arrested on DUI charges on Sept. 6, according to a police report. The report said police made a traffic stop on Christy Drive in Chadds Ford Township and determined that Zacchei had been driving under the influence of alcohol. The report did not give a reason for the stop that happened just after 9 p.m.

Police said Jeffrey L. Onisick, 37, of Springfield, was cited following a two-car crash at Routes 1 and 202 on Sept. 18. According to the report, On 09/18/2025 at approximately 2111 Hours, I was dispatched to a hit and run crash. One vehicle was in the left lane turning left at the intersection, while the other car, driven by Onisick, was in the right lane turning left and sideswiped the other vehicle.

Avondale Barracks

Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident in West Marlborough Township on Sept 12. The offending motorist sideswiped another car on Doe Run Road but continued driving without stopping.

Police said an unidentified woman, having a manic episode, punched two nurses at a hospital. The woman was being evaluated at the time. She was charged and brought before a judge, then remanded for treatment. The incident happened on Sept. 3 in Thornbury Township.

Kennett Square Police Department

According to a police report, Sean Kaplan, 56, of Chadds Ford, was charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness, and disorderly conduct after he exposed himself during a massage at a business in the 500 block of W. State Street in Kennett Square. The incident happened on Sept. 3. A preliminary hearing is pending.

Police said Yohan Salinas, 21, of Kennett Square, was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, DUI, and other related traffic offenses, after the 2005 GMC he was operating was stopped for failing to maintain its lane of travel. The incident occurred on Aug. 23, at approximately 2:27 a.m., in the 600 block of E. Cypress Street. Officers said they observed indicators suggesting intoxication, and field sobriety tests showed impairment. He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and submitted to a chemical test of his breath, resulting in a blood alcohol level of 0.104 percent. He was processed and later released pending issuance of a summons. Officers were later dispatched at approximately 11:37 a.m. for a stolen vehicle report matching the vehicle Salinas was operating during his DUI arrest. An arrest warrant was then issued by District Court 15-3-04 for Salinas. The arrest was made on Sept 15.

Eulojio Juarez-Ramirez, 26 of Kennett Square, was arrested and charged with terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, and harassment following an argument in which he allegedly threatened to kill a female subject with a knife, police said. This incident occurred on Sept. 14, at approximately 10:56 p.m., in the 300 block of E. Linden Street. Juarez-Ramirez was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking at Chester County Prison. Charges were filed in District Court 15-3-04.
