Michele Marie Sweeney of Landenberg

Michele Marie Sweeney, 59, of Landenberg, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 19, at Christiana Hospital in Newark. She was the wife of Gerald T. Sweeney, with whom she shared 34 years of marriage. Born in Wichita, Kan., she was the daughter of the late James Frizzell and the late Sheila Bridgewater Frizzell.

In her early years, Michele was a paralegal in the real estate industry. She then worked for 10 years for the Kennett Consolidated School District. More recently she was a pharmacy tech at the CVS in Kennett Square.

Michele was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and gardening.  She enjoyed trips to the beach and reading a good book.

Survivors include, in addition to her husband, Jerry, two sons, Zachary Thomas Sweeney of Landenberg, and Samuel H. Sweeney of Pittsburgh; one stepson, Daniel R. Sweeney (Nikki) of Brookhaven; one stepdaughter, Tanya K. Sweeney; two step-grandsons; one brother, Raymond Scott Frizzell (Martha) of Rehobeth; and many nephews.

Depot is a handsome 2-year-old looking for his forever home. This lovely boy loves to go on walks and run around his fenced-in yard. When he’s not outside playing, Depot loves to snooze in only the most comfortable spots, wrapped up in a nice blanket. You can name your fee for Depot through Sunday, July 2.

Lucy is a pretty, 9-year-old tiger lady who is very sweet and loving. Her absolute favorite activities include naps in the sunshine and receiving chin scratches. She’s also very talkative and would like to tell you all about her day. You can name your fee for Lucy through Sunday, July 2.
