State police said Ankur Bansal, 27, of Bear, Del., was killed when he was struck by a car after he exited another vehicle that was stopped on the shoulder of Route 202. The accident happened at 3:36 a.m. on Dec. 18.

State police arrested a 28-year-old man from Wilmington on drug possession charges following a traffic stop at the intersection of E. State and N. Walnut streets in Kennett Square on Dec. 11. They made the stop at 3:01 a.m. According to the report, police noticed a strong odor of marijuana after they made contact with the driver who was not named in the report. Police said the driver admitted to having recently smoked the cannabis, and marijuana was found in his pants pocket.

A 31-year-old woman from Harrisburg, whose name was redacted from the police report, was arrested for DUI following a three-vehicle crash in East Marlborough Township at 3:49 p.m. on Nov. 26. The woman was also transported to Chester County Hospital. Police said the other two drivers may also have been injured but they refused transport. Police said the errant motorist was driving east on Village Lane when she failed to stop at a red light and crashed into the other two cars in the northbound lane of Baltimore Pike.

Police said Ruth Lopez-Aguilera, 25, of Oxford, was cited for excessive speed after an accident that injured the other driver. The accident happened at 8:11 a.m. on Dec. 15 at the intersection of Lenape Road and Deblyn V Lane. The report contained no synopsis of the accident except to say the other driver was taken to Paoli Hospital.

Joe Lawville was cited for excessive speed following a one-car crash in Pennsbury Township at 8:11 a.m. on Dec. 15, police said. According to the report, Lawville was driving north on S. Creek Road at Cossart Road when he ran off the road in conditions of freezing rain and sleet, struck a guide rail, and went into a ditch.

Police are investigating the reported theft of more than $7,000 from a 60-year-old Pennsbury Township woman. The report said the woman paid the man to fix the roof of her house, but he never completed the work.

Someone broke windows out on two cars parked at Hoods BBQ on W. Doe Run Road on Dec. 17 and stole a purse from one of the vehicles.
