This showcase of art, antiques, and design, which will feature 60 dealers, is scheduled for Nov. 11 through Nov. 13 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. Reinier Baarsen, senior curator of furniture at Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum, will serve as co-chair and keynote lecturer.

The Delaware Antiques Show showcases the best of American antiques and decorative arts, including furniture, paintings, rugs, ceramics, silver, jewelry, and more. Delaware Governor Jack Markell and First Lady Carla Markell, and Colonial Williamsburg Deputy Chief Curator Margaret Beck Pritchard join Baarsen in co-chairing this year’s show.

“We are honored to welcome our distinguished co-chairs and are delighted that furniture scholar Dr. Reinier Baarsen will open the show Nov. 11 with a fascinating keynote lecture on European decorative arts in the new Rijksmuseum," J. Thomas Savage, Winterthur director of museum affairs, said in a Winterthur press release. "The Rijksmuseum has one of the most important international collections of furniture in the world, and Dr. Baarsen's insights are sure to add rich dimension to our understanding of European decorative arts and greatly enhance the Delaware Antiques Show.”

Baarsen has worked at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and as a consultant at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Malibu. He has served as curator of silver and gold as well as head of the Department of Sculpture and Decorative Arts at the Rijksmuseum. His keynote lecture will open the show Friday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m.: “Amsterdam Splendor: European Decorative Arts in the New Rijksmuseum.”

General admission is $15 per person, $13 for Winterthur members; children under 12 are free. Tickets are valid for all three days of the show. An Opening Night Party will be held Thursday, Nov. 10, from 5 to 9 p.m. and requires separate tickets.
