PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of Aug. 13 through Aug. 20. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones.

Pothole patching on Route 202 in East Goshen and Birmingham townships will continue to require lane restrictions between Brinton’s Bridge Road and Route 322. Crews are scheduled to work from Monday, Aug. 15, through Thursday, Aug. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Also on Route 202, on Saturday, Aug. 13, crews are scheduled to perform litter removal and sweeping from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. following the opening last week of the newly widened highway.

Utility installation will require a lane closure on Wilmington Pike in Westtown Township between Piedmont and Pleasant Grove roads from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Wednesday, Aug. 17.

Route 1 in Concord Township will continue to be the site of utility installation through Sept. 1. Lane shifts will be needed on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Mainline Health Care project between Brinton Lake Road and Applied Card Way.

Work will continue on the Speakman Covered Bridge in East Fallowfield and West Marlborough townships. Frog Hollow Road between Concord Bridge and Strasburg roads will be closed and detoured until the estimated completion date of Sept. 20.

Green Valley Road in Newlin Township is closed and detoured between Powell and Brandywine Creek roads due to structural deficiencies at the Green Valley Road Bridge. No repair date has been scheduled.

Burnt Mill Road in Kennett Township remains closed and detoured between Norway and Spring Mill roads while advance work continues on repairs to the Burnt Mill Bridge, which was closed on April 24, 2014.

Work is continuing on the Birmingham Road Bridge in Birmingham Township, which was closed in September due to structural damage. Posted 24-hour detours will be in effect between Lambourne Road and Stoney Run Drive. The completion date has been extended to Sept. 20.

On Tuesday, Aug. 16, through Friday, Aug.19, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Broad Street in Philadelphia will be restricted between Spring Garden Street and Indiana Avenue for base repair followed by milling.

Kelly Drive will be closed from the Strawberry Mansion Bridge to Fountain Green Drive on Saturday, Aug.13, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Bayada Regatta. Detours will be posted.

Also on Saturday, Aug. 13, in Philadelphia, the Mayor’s Cup Championship Runs will take place on Belmont Plateau and various locations in West Fairmount Park. The following streets will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Strawberry Mansion Bridge; Ford Road from the park boundaries to Strawberry Mansion Bridge; Chamounix Drive from Belmont Mansion Drive to Greenland Drive; and Belmont Mansion Drive from Montgomery Drive to Belmont Avenue.
