Police Log Dec. 24: Drug arrest, DUIs, accidents

PSP Logo 2• State police arrested a Wilmington man on drug possession charges in Chadds Ford Township on Dec. 18. A police report said Kevin Michael Frame, 25, was pulled over during a traffic stop on Route 202 at Oakland Road at 9:14 p.m. Police said Frame had marijuana in his possession.

• Route 202 at Oakland Road was the location of a two-vehicle accident on Dec. 17. No injuries were reported, but one driver was cited for improper turning. According to a police report, Lawrence R. Murray, 41, of Newark, was driving north on 202 when he attempted a left turn onto Oakland, but he did not have enough clearance and drove into the path of an oncoming southbound vehicle.

• Stephen Lukes, 42, reportedly of Chadds Ford, was arrested for DUI on Dec. 21, according to a police report. The report he was stopped for traffic violations at 1:07 a.m. on Route 1 at Creek Road.

• Police cited Kyle Ducharme, 21, of Downingtown, with following too closely in connection with a Dec. 20 accident on northbound Route 1 at Route 322 in Concord Township. A report said Ducharme struck another vehicle from behind as the driver was yielding to traffic merging from Route 322.

• George J. Bischler, 71, of Thornton was charged with speeding following a one-car accident on Aldan Avenue in Concord Township. Police said Bischler was driving too fast for conditions and hit a curb. He then lost control of his car and hit another curb. The car came to rest 50 yards from the secondary impact, police said. No injuries were reported.

• State police cited Laird C. Bunch, 45, of Wilmington, with driving at an unsafe speed. A report said Bunch lost control of the Audi Q5 he was driving on Shadow Lane in Pennsbury Township, ran off the side of the roadway for about 180 feet before hitting a tree. No other vehicles were involved and Bunch was reportedly unhurt. The accident happened 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 5.

• Kyle Canipe, 18, of Kennett Square, was also unhurt in a one-vehicle accident and also cited with driving at an unsafe speed. State police said Canipe was driving south on Sills Mill Road in Kennett Township when he lost control of his vehicle while trying to negotiate a sharp left curve. He overcompensated, the report said, and his Chevy Malibu flipped onto the driver’s side.

• On Friday, Dec. 11, at 8:06 p.m., New Garden Township Police responded to Penn Green Road for an erratic driving complaint and located a vehicle north of Laurel Bridge Road, resting against the embankment with damage to the passenger corner. The driver, Margaret Lavoie-Davis, 46, of Landenberg, appeared to be sleeping, police said. She allegedly exhibited signs of impairment, but refused to perform field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for DUI, police said.

• On Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 6:11 p.m., New Garden police received the report of ongoing harassment by communication in the 100 block of Hillside Lane in New Garden Township. The victim related that after being told not to contact him by police twice, Tera Brady, 39, of Coatesville, continued in her harassing behavior by sending additional text messages.  Brady was contacted and advised she was being cited for harassment by communication.

• On Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 3:56 p.m., New Garden police responded to the 300 block of Starr Road for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police learned that a verbal argument had ensued between Carlos Jimenez, 75, of Oxford, and a family member over a child.  The argument escalated when Jimenez struck the victim in the chest area twice.  A citation for harassment was filed against Jimenez.
