John Robert Porter of Chadds Ford

John Robert Porter, 28, of Chadds Ford, died Aug. 4, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, following injuries sustained in a car crash in Chadds Ford on July 25.

John was the beloved son of Robert and Carol Jane (Najarian) Porter. He is survived by his brother, Daniel Porter, and also by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins of the Porter and Najarian families.

John graduated in 2006 from Hilltop Preparatory School in Rosemont, and had recently gone back to school at Delaware County Community College, where he was studying automotive technology.   He graduated from Harcum College with an associate's degree (honors) in 2010. He was a regular at the Penn Oaks gym, where he was respected for his strength and dedication. He loved photography, and had a particular eye for nature, including the animals and plants of Chadds Ford and Longwood Gardens.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Saturday, Aug. 9, from noon to 12:50 p.m. followed by his memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike in Newtown Square. (610) 353-6300.
