John “Jack” E. Stoneback of Jennersville

John “Jack” E. Stoneback, 76, died May 15  at Jennersville Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born on Sept. 2, 1937, in Honeybrook, he was the son of the late Clarence and Marguerite Maloney Stoneback.

Jack was a truck driver in the construction field throughout his life.

He enjoyed living in the mountains and moved back to Chester County in 2009 where he then lived and was cared for by Catherine, Tiffany, and Ernie Antes.

Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was an avid bird watcher and spent many warm, sunny afternoons sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds. Most of all Jack enjoyed spending time with his family and his smile would light up the room upon seeing his great grandchildren.

He is survived by four step daughters – Patty Kelly of Phoenixville, Catherine Antes, Debbie Johnston, and Linda DaBundo all of Landenberg. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren and is survived by his former wife, Shirley Stoneback of Oxford.

He is predeceased by one brother and one sister.

Jack also leaves behind three brotherly lifelong friends, James and Charles Crossan, and David Crossan (deceased), with whom he spent the majority of early years.

You may visit with Jack’s family and friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at the Foulk & Grieco Funeral Home, 200 Rose Hill Road in West Grove.  A memorial service will follow at 7. Burial will be private.
