Robert Lewis Keene, age 71, of Jennersville, died Wednesday, April 30, at Jennersville Regional Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Clara Bennett Keene, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Alfred Keene and Florence Knapp Keene.
He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion.
He was a production manager and plant manager for most of his working life.
He was a loyal Eagles fan and loved spending time with his family more than anything. He enjoyed boating in his younger years, annual family vacations at the beach, fishing, working in his vegetable garden, canning, cooking, holiday and birthday celebrations with his grandchildren. He excelled at fixing things. He loved doing things for his wife and family.
He was a loving father to Denise Keene Mahala, husband David, Eielson AFB, Alaska, Kenneth Keene, Sr., Landenberg, and Sharon Keene McAfee, husband Bill, Jennersville; Proud Pop Pop to Dylan, Jacob & Jason Mahala, Kenny Keene, Jr., Faith, Billy, Brandon & Emma McAfee, brother to Virginia Speer of Wawa, and Dorothea Todd of Havertown, , and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Carolyn Cundiff and one brother, Alan Keene.
Memorial service and interment will be held privately at New London Presbyterian Church Cemetery in New London.
