Media Barracks

State police from the Media barracks are investigating the attempted theft of $4,800 from a 68-year-old woman’s bank account. Police said the unknown suspect was able to gain access to the woman’s bank account using her personal information. The money was recovered but police are continuing their investigation.

A scammer was able to hack into a 78-year-old woman’s bank account and make fraudulent charges against her debit card. The investigation continues.

Police arrested a 16-year-old boy for drug possession. The incident took place on Nov. 30 at Garnet Valley High School when the youth was found with a vape pen containing THC.

Lululemon was again the victim of theft on Dec. 9. Police said an unknown man entered the store on Baltimore Pike and stole $2,500 worth of men’s clothing. Police are investigating.

Police said Kevin Concepcion Rodriguez, 24, of Philadelphia, was arrested for shoplifting at Wegmans in Concord Township on Dec. 19. He is accused of stealing $822 worth of grocery items.

King Pugh, 25, of New Castle, was arrested for shoplifting at Wegmans on Nov. 25, a police report said. He is accused of stealing $52 worth of baby formula, a $20 bouquet of flowers, and a 99-cent reusable shopping bag.

Avondale Barracks

State police from the Avondale barracks said they arrested two 21-year-old women from Delaware on shoplifting charges on Dec. 24. Dayana Cintron of Newark, and Tiana Arroyo, of Wilmington are accused of stealing items from the Walmart in East Marlborough Township. Police said the pair passed all points of sale with items concealed in large purses and tote bags. There was no mention in the report of what they had taken.

A 27-year-old man from Brooklyn, N.Y. was arrested on Dec. 23 for shoplifting at the East Marlborough Township Walmart. He allegedly stole $145 worth of food items.

An unidentified person stole $368 worth of merchandise from the East Marlborough Township Walmart on Dec. 23. No other details were provided.

Someone broke into a car parked in the vicinity of Bayard Road and E. Baltimore Pike on Dec. 20 and stole a computer bag with an iPad and a Microsoft Surface Pro. The items were later found by a passing motorist on E. Baltimore Pike.

An unidentified 45-year-old man from Wilmington was charged with theft after he allegedly stole $107 worth of merchandise from the East Marlborough Walmart on Dec. 8.

Kennett Square Police Department

Borough Police said Desiderio Ramirez-Tomas, 32, of Avondale, was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses after the 2007 Chrysler he was operating was stopped for failing to maintain its lane of travel and several other traffic violations. The incident occurred on Dec. 23, at approximately 1:20 a.m., in the 300 block of W. State Street. Upon making contact with Ramirez-Tomas, officers observed indicators suggesting intoxication, and field sobriety tests showed impairment. He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and submitted to a chemical test of his breath, resulting in a blood alcohol level of 0.122 percent.
