Library-based art at Kennett Library

Art show coming to Kennett Library.

The Kennett Library Art Gallery’s January exhibit will feature 3-dimensional wire hands by local artist Lisa Fedon. This collection was inspired by activities captured in the library.

The opening reception for Lisa’s exhibit is on Thursday, Jan. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. The show will be on display until Jan 30.

Fedon is an award-winning international metal artist and sculptor. She was recently awarded the contract for an interior piece at The Marquee Hotel, New Orleans. She inspires many; her artwork is imaginative, powerful, and, at times, whimsical, and art has become part of many private and public collections worldwide.

Chris Manna, executive director of Kennett Library, said, “Libraries have a long history of providing a platform of expression through the written word. Our new library now offers a visual platform. Hosting Lisa Feldon’s exhibit is a testament to the beauty of visual expression on our art gallery wall.”

The February show in the Kennett Library Art Gallery will be in celebration of Black History Month. The opening is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 1. Details will be released soon on the Kennett Library website.

Some of the art exhibited in the library gallery is for sale, and a portion of those sales will be donated back to the library. This is an excellent opportunity to support local artists and the Kennett Library. You can ask for more information at the circulation desk or contact Mary Hutchins, development director, at Mary@KennettLibrary.org.
