Police Log Aug. 30: Drug possession, retail theft, DUI

Police arrested a 31-year-old woman from Delaware in Pennsbury Township on Aug. 24. The suspect was not identified in the report, but police said she was a passenger in a car they stopped on Kennett Pike at Hickory Hill Road. According to the report, the woman was in possession of a controlled substance and had an arrest warrant from Delaware. No reason for the traffic stop was given.

On Aug. 18, police arrested a 26-year-old man from Kennett Square for DUI. The suspect’s name was not released, but the report said troopers made a traffic stop on W. Mulberry Street at S. Washington Street in the borough because a brake light wasn’t working. Police observed signs of impairment, the report said, and the driver was taken into custody.

State police are investigating a case of retail theft in East Marlborough Township. The incident took place on Aug. 26, but police did not say what store was involved. It said there were three unknown individuals who fled the scene after stealing an unknown amount of merchandise.

A 56-year-old woman from Avondale was arrested for drug possession in Kennett Square on Aug. 25. The arrest followed a traffic stop on N. Mill Road at W. Sickle Street in the borough. Police said drugs and paraphernalia were in plain view when they contacted the driver, and that she exhibited signs of impairment. Once outside the vehicle, she removed drugs and paraphernalia from her pocket, police said. Field sobriety tests indicated impairment. The report didn’t identify the woman.

Police said they arrested an 82-year-old man from Garnet Valley for DUI in Pennsbury Township on Aug. 25. The traffic stop was performed on Baltimore Pike, but no reason for the stop was given in the report, nor was the man identified.
