A 60-year-old man from Virginia said he lost $100 in a bathroom at Wegmans on July 19. According to the police report, he placed his wallet on the toilet. He then left the restroom without his wallet and when he went back to retrieve it, he noticed money was missing. The value of lost currency is $100 in the form of two $50 bills.

Someone stole a $1,000 catalytic converter from a truck parked at Franklin Styer Nurseries in Concord Township on July 24.

Avondale Barracks

The Pennsylvania State Police, Avondale Barracks, will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint this weekend, from Aug. 25 to 27.

A police report said James Martin, 52, of Coatesville, was arrested for drug possession and DUI on Aug. 20 following a pursuit and brief struggle. Troopers said they attempted to initiate a traffic stop at the Doe Run and Wilson roads for multiple traffic violations, but the driver fled, according to the report. A pursuit followed and the suspect eventually attempted to turn into a gravel lot and lost control. After a brief struggle, the driver was taken into custody. He was found to be under the influence and in possession of narcotics.

A 20-year-old man from West Chester — not identified in the report — was arrested for drug possession in Kennett Square on Aug. 11 shortly after midnight. The arrest followed a traffic stop after the vehicle was observed going the wrong way on W. State Street. The driver showed signs of impairment and marijuana and paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

Reddeppa R. Dandu, 64, of Downingtown, was cited for speeding following a one-car crash in Pocopson Township on Aug. 15, police said. The accident happened at 7:23 a.m. on Locust Grove Road. Police said Dandu was driving south on Locust Grove but lost control and crossed into the opposing lane of traffic and struck a mailbox. The vehicle sustained disabling damages to the front bumper but no injuries were reported.
