Chadds Ford Business Association President Joe Lafferty, left, presents Emily Myers, a long-time CFBA board member and the owner and publisher of Chadds Ford Live, with flowers during Myers’ last CFBA luncheon before she moves to Colorado. The lunch meeting was held at the Pennsbury Township building on May 4.

Dennis Smith of the Pennsbury Planning Commission was the guest speaker at the May 4 Chadds Ford Business Association lunch meeting held at the Pennsbury Township building. He told the CFBA members present that the township and the Pennsbury Land Trust are working to restore the John Hope House — located to the west of the township property — and have enlisted the aid of architect John Milner. The house was the home of John Hope and was built sometime between 1725 and 1802. Smith also mentioned last year’s Pennsbury Board of Supervisors’ decision to amend the township’s zoning code to allow residents to install solar panels on their properties without going through a conditional use hearing as long as the panels would not be seen from the road or by neighbors.
