Photographers can shoot at the Kuerner Farm on Wednesday night, July 7.

Photographers can get special evening access to Kuerner Farm, a National Historic Landmark, where Andrew Wyeth found intriguing subjects for hundreds of tempera paintings, watercolors, and drawings for more than 70 years. Photographers are invited to explore the property where they can photograph the iconic setting. One of Brandywine's knowledgeable interpreters will be available throughout the event to answer questions and provide insight into Wyeth's creative process. Participants will meet at Kuerner Farm in Chadds Ford; directions will be provided upon registration. Participants are responsible for providing all art materials. The event is scheduled for 4:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 7. The cost is $15 for BRM members, $20 for nonmembers. For tickets, go here.

Due to the possibility of thunderstorms, the Patriotic Pet Parade scheduled for Thursday, July 1, has been rescheduled for Thursday, July 8, at 6 p.m.

Live music at the Galer Estate w=Winery this month.

Galer Estate Vineyard and Winery is hosting live music on Fridays and Saturdays during July. Performance times run from 5-7 p.m. There will also be live music this Monday, July 5, from 1-3 p.m. There will also be limited views of the Longwood Gardens fireworks displays on July 3 and 17. Thornbury Farm CSA is hosting a Treason Day celebration this Saturday, July 3, from 4-9 p.m. Treason Day commemorates the last day of the American colonies under British rule. Live music, food, and reenactors will be there. Thornbury Farm is at 1256 Thornbury Road.

Concord Township’s next Concert in the Park is scheduled for next Thursday, July 8 in the township park on Smithbridge Road. The featured artist is Paul Downie and Friends. Showtime is 7 p.m.

Pick your own berries and pull invasive plants at Delaware Wild Lands’ annual Pick & Pull at the Sharp Farm on Saturday, July 10.

Amateur naturalists and conservationists get a chance to pick berries and pull invasive plants next weekend in Middletown, Del. It’s the Delaware Wild Lands’ annual Pick & Pull at the Sharp Farm from 9 a.m. to noon, next Saturday, July 10. Wild wineberries will be ripe for the picking, while invasive plants such as Mile-A-Minute and Virgin's Bower can easily be pulled. Bring your own containers; work gloves will be provided. The Chester County History Center is offering a virtual program on the Parker Sisters Kidnapping and Rescue from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 15. In December of 1851, Rachel and Elizabeth Parker were kidnapped in separate incidents from the Nottingham area. These two free black young women were taken in order to be sold south into slavery. This story involves the reactions from those on either side of the Mason Dixon Line - tales of compassion, murder, and legal maneuverings. Later explorations on your own can include three local cemeteries, drive-bys of the abduction sites, Nottingham Park, and the Herr Foods properties. Go here to register.
