Non-essential meetings on hold in Kennett Twp.

Kennett Township is canceling non-township meetings held in the township building and also non-essential “large group” meetings.

It is part of their response to the novel coronavirus, which has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization.

“Many of the precautions we are putting in place mirror those taking place in other townships throughout the county,” the supervisors wrote in a letter that was posted to the township’s website on Thursday and also sent out via e-mail.

The letter details preventive measures the township is taking, which also includes, among other things:

  • Asking visitors to the township building to stay home when they are sick, and requiring staff to do so as well;
  • Asking everyone to apply hand sanitizer when entering the police department or township office; and
  • Limiting police department activities to essential activities.

“If you have need of a non-emergency service and have a question about whether it is available, please contact our police department at 610-388-2874,” according to the letter.

A full copy of the letter is available at Kennett Township’s website
