William “Bill” D. Anderson of Kennett Square

William “Bill” D. Anderson, 91, of Kennett Square, died
Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Neighborhood Hospice, West Chester. He was the husband
of Elizabeth “Bette” Hughes Anderson, who died in 2010, and with whom he shared
68 years of marriage.

Born in Altoona, he was the son of the late James Henry and
Ada Brightbill Anderson, and was a graduate of Unionville High School.

Bill was a Methods Analyst at the DuPont Company, retiring
in 1982, after 37 years of service.

Bill was past master of the Kennett Square Masonic Lodge,
and a current member of the West Chester Masonic Lodge. He was a past high priest
of the Royal Arch Chapter and past commander of the Gunning Bedford Commandry.
He was a former Babe Ruth coach in the summer leagues and an avid golfer and
pinochle player. He enjoyed being with his family and friends.

He served his country as a corporal in the United States
Army during World War II, where he fought and was wounded in the Battle of the
Bulge. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze star.

He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Musser and her
husband Tom of Kennett Square, and Terry Lee Vosburgh and her husband Bruce of
Kennett Square; one son, William D. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Sherry of West
Chester, four grandchildren, Traci Bauguess and her husband Ron of Port
Deposit, Md., Tom Musser of Redondo Beach, Calif., Erin Vosburgh of Kennett
Square, and Colton Vosburgh of Baltimore, Md., and two great-grandchildren,
Xander Bauguess and Kayla Bauguess.

Bill was predeceased by four brothers, Clair Anderson,
Robert Anderson, James Anderson and John “Jack” Anderson, and one sister,
Isabelle Jones.

You are invited to visit with Bill’s family and friends from
3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, and again from 9-10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, at
the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, (Phone:
610-444-4116). A Masonic service will be held at 4:30 Sunday evening and
his funeral service will be held at 10:00 Monday morning at the funeral
home. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square.
