Claude F. Phipps, 68, of West Grove, died Wednesday, March 2,
at his residence.
Born in West Grove, he was the son of Blanche Lourene Hopper
Phipps and the late Barney Roscoe Phipps.
Claude was a utility man at General Motors in Wilmington for
30 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a avid fisherman and a big Philadelphia sports team
fan. He enjoyed fox hunting, bowling, NASCAR, coin collecting and being with
his grandsons.
In addition t o his mother, he is survived by two sons,
Michael C. Phipps (Dawn) of Chesapeake City, Md., and Brian F. Phipps
(Kara Peterson) of West Grove; one brother, James Phipps (Judy) of Avondale;
one sister, Jennie Hoover (Lee) of West Grove, and three grandchildren,
Adam, Andrew and Logan, and his dear friend Paula Mason.
You are invited to visit with his family and friends from
noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, at the Foulk & Grieco Funeral Home, 200
Rose Hill Road, West Grove, (Phone: 610-869-2685). His funeral service will
follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett
Square.
