Free Sundays
The Brandywine River Museum is offering free admissions on Sunday mornings— between 9:30 a.m. and noon—from Jan. 16 through Nov. 20, a press release said. Several new exhibitions are planned for 2011, including NC Wyeth’s Civil War paintings and Farm Work by Jamie Wyeth. There will also be an exhibition of works by Barry Moser.


Deer Hunt
Peter Jesson, chairman of the Lyme Disease Task Force in Chadds Ford, issued a statement saying landowners and hunters will be matched up as soon as there are enough qualified hunters for the program. The goal of the hunt, as previously reported, is to cull the deer population to reduce the incidents of Lyme in the township. Downloading
The Rachel Kohl Community Library is offering a free tutorial on downloading eBooks on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 1:30 p.m. David Belanger, director of the Delaware County Library System, will be demonstrating the ease and convenience of downloading books found on the Delaware County eBook service (www.delcolibraries.org).
The Rachel Kohl Community Library is located at 687 Smithbridge Road in Glen Mills and serves the communities of Bethel, Chadds Ford, Chester Heights, Concord, and Thornbury townships.


Hagley’s Dollar Days
Visit the Hagley Museum for only $1. The $1 admission fee is valid on Saturdays in February and March. The Belin House Organic Café,located on Workers’ Hill, will also offer hot dogs and yogurt for $1.
