• The Chaddsford Winery, along with 70 or 80 other
Pennsylvania wineries, is taking part in an attempt to break a Guiness World’s
Record, Saturday, Aug. 14.
Wineries across the state will attempt to set a new record for the
largest wine toast. The current record is 17,540 people, set in May, 2008 in

racecar driver Mario Andretti will lead the toast via video hookup from western
Pennsylvania. The toast will take placed at 4 p.m.

• Walgreen’s Pharmacy is leaving Painter’s Crossing
shopping center. It was learned this week that the drug store, a former Happy
Harry’s, will be moving to a new location on Route 202 south at Naaman’s Creek
Road on Aug. 20.

• As previously reported, Genuardi’s is closing its
Glen Eagle location, also on Aug. 20. A new supermarket is scheduled to move in
during the autumn of 2011. Glen Eagle management can’t yet say who will move
in, but other tenants in the center say it will be a Whole Foods store.
