Christian Walter Holweger, 91, of Kennett Square, died
Thursday Nov. 5 at Kendal at Longwood. 
He was the beloved husband of Dorothy Dodd Holweger with whom he shared
57 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Christian W.
and Emma Wittmaier Holweger.

Chris served his country for four years in the Navy during
WWII. In 1950, he graduated from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and
Science (now Philadelphia University) and was employed by the DuPont Company
for 29 years in the Textile Fibers Department before retiring in 1982.  Chris was a vestryman and longtime lay
reader at Christ Church Christiana Hundred in Wilmington.  He volunteered at the Brandywine River
Museum for over 20 years, growing wildflowers at their Brandywine Conservancy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William
Holweger and his wife, Susan of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Amy Holweger of
Klamath Falls, Or.; one brother, Edward H. Holweger of Moorestown, N.J.; and
three grandchildren, Christian, Kirk, and Jakob. He was predeceased by his son,
Christian, and his brother, Wilbur.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov.
12, at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 401 North Union Street, Kennett
Square.  Interment will be held
privately.  Contributions in his
memory may be made to the Brandywine Conservancy, P.O. Box 141, Chadds Ford, PA
19317. Arrangements are being handled by the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home
(610-444-4116) of Kennett Square.
