Louis L. DiAngelis of Landenberg

Louis L. DiAngelis died Aug. 3.

Louis is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Rae Lynn DiAngelis, and his cherished daughter, Elisabeth Ann, 16, who was the light of his life.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alfonso DiAngelis; his mother, Victoria Pannell DiAngelis; his two sisters, Elizabeth DaBundo and Josephine Tavoni; and by his three brothers, Alfonso, Joseph and Thomas DiAngelis.

Louis attended Kennett High School until he was called into military service as a radio operator and MKM rifle marksman. As a veteran of WWII, he served in the peace keeping corps in Stuttgart, Germany until January 1947.  He earned the Army of Occupation Medal and the Victory Medal.  He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #5467 and the American Legion Post #491 in Kennett Square.

After returning from the war, he earned his living as a mushroom grower, and also went to work for Delaware Park during the summer seasons in the day, and at night he worked at Brandywine Raceway in the admissions departments. Over his lifetime he was proud to have owned over 70 race horses. In 1982 he became a full-time employee at Delaware Park and remained there until the day he died.

Louis enjoyed sharing his love for life with the company of his family and friends, always offering them his love, kindness, support and quick-wittedness.  He loved to dance, sing, and play golf, football, and cards.

You are invited to visit with Louis’ family and friends on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home (610-444-4116), 250 West State St., Kennett Square, and also on Friday, Aug. 7 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church, 8910 Gap Newport Pike (Rt. 41), Avondale.  His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. on Friday at the church.  Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.

Wayne E. Coyle of Kennett Square

Wayne E. Coyle, 97 of Kennett Square, died Aug. 4 at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford.  He was the husband of Madeleine Hoehn Coyle, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Pathmore Coyle.

He was a 1930 graduate of Unionville High School

Mr. Coyle served in the Royal Air Force and in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot night fighter in the Pacific during World War II.

He worked at Longwood Gardens for 47 years, retiring in 1977 as an arborist foreman.

Mr. Coyle was a member of the Kennett Masonic Lodge #475 F&AM and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah Crocker and her husband B. William Crocker, Jr. of Rochester, Ny; a nephew, Richard W. Coyle of Glen Mills; and by two grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at Longwood Cemetery, 945 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Coyle’s memory to Ware Presbyterian Village, Employee Giving Fund, 7 E. Locust St., Oxford, PA 19363.

Thomas Allen Johnson of Kennett Square

Thomas Allen Johnson, 45, of Kennett Square died Aug. 4 at his home.

Born in Wilmington, he was the son of Jack R. and Mickey Barwell Johnson of Kennett Square.

Tom was a tattoo artist and owned Johnson Ink.

He was an avid Flyers fan and played hockey. Tom was a musician, artist and enjoyed spending time with his daughter.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Hailey Johnson of Kennett Square; three brothers, Kenneth P. Johnson of West Chester, John E. Johnson of Kennett Square, and Steven W. Johnson of Oxford; a sister, Karen Mento of Coatesville; and by his former wife, Cary Johnson.

He was predeceased by a brother, Michael R. Johnson.

You are invited to visit with Tom’s family and friends on Sunday, Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home (610-444-4116), 250 W. State St., Kennett Square.  His memorial service will follow at noon.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
