Join Amanda C. Burdan, associate curator at the Brandywine River Museum of Art for a fast-paced lecture on the history of photography. Topics will range from the first experiments in drawing with light in the 19th century, through the technical and artistic accomplishments of the 20th century, and ending with the lens-based work of 21st century artists, including James Welling, whose Andrew Wyeth-inspired work is currently on display. Arrive early; the museum will open at 5:30 p.m. with the conversation at 6 p.m. followed by a reception.
