In celebration of the 100th anniversary year of the 19th amendment, Re-Vision 20/20: Through a Woman’s Lens looks at objects in the Winterthur galleries through the lens of women’s stories, recognizing the everyday women who forged a better path for themselves, and ultimately for future generations, in creative, intellectual, and entrepreneurial ways. Drawing upon Winterthur’s vast museum and library collections, and highlighting objects and manuscripts representing more than three centuries of history, the objects in these galleries reveal unexpected and surprising stories that touch upon complex issues associated with gender, race, politics, religion, celebrity, and more. Objects once solely interpreted for their significance in relation to men’s stories are now re-visioned by casting the lens of women’s history on them and uncovering stories of women who were not only creators and thinkers in their time but also society’s disruptors and influencers. Curator's Gallery Walks for this installment will occur the first Tuesday of each month at 2:00 pm.

Don't miss a variety of related programs, including a  soprano concert by Julia Swan Laird performing songs arranged by Libby Larsen, one of America's most performed living composers, and fascinating lectures by and about women influencers, creators, thinkers, and disruptors.
