John Kalbach Aman of Chadds Ford

John Kalbach Aman, 80, of Chadds Ford, died Thursday, May 28, at Brandywine Hall in West Chester. He was the husband of Catherine Bachman Aman, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage.

Born in Bryn Mawr, he was the son of the late George M. Aman Jr. and Emily Kalbach Aman.

John was a product manager at the DuPont Company, Wilmington, retiring in 1993, after 37 years of service.

He was a member of the Willowdale Chapel, Kennett Square.

He was a devoted husband and father, and he enjoyed music, tennis, parties and being with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Stephen C. Aman of West Palm Beach, Fla., Christopher L. Aman and his wife Cynthia of Avondale, and John K. Aman Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Marriottsville, Md.; one daughter, Elizabeth Anne “Lianne” Martel and her husband Edmond of Northridge, Calif.; three stepsons, Christopher B. Godschall and his wife Trang of Ellicott City, Md., James M. Godschall and his wife Lisa of Lumberton, N.J. and Mark Bachman and his wife Melanie of Ulysses, Pa.; One brother, George M. Aman, III of Newtown Square; one sister, Emily Anne Aman of Haverford; four grandchildren and nine step grandchildren.

You are invited to visit with John’s family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, at the Willowdale Chapel, 675 Unionville Road, Kennett Square, PA. His funeral service will follow at 11. Burial will be in Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery, Valley Forge, PA.
