Media Barracks
• State police from the Media barracks are investigating the theft of blueberry bushes from a pickup truck in Concord Township. The heist occurred sometime between 6 and 6:30 p.m. on March 14 in the Costco parking lot. The victim told police that $140 worth of the bushes were stolen from the bed of the truck.
• A 22-year-old man from Philadelphia was arrested for shoplifting at the Target store in Concord Township on March 11. The suspect, not identified in the report, allegedly took items off the shelf, placed them in a black duffle bag, and left the store. The report said store asset protection was able to identify the man, which led to the arrest.
• Police said Tafari Richards Campbelle, 27, of Bear, Del., was arrested for shoplifting at Wegmans on March 5. He is accused of stealing $27 worth of grocery items. The incident happened at 12:49 p.m.
Avondale Barracks
Police are now reporting that Frances J. Hart, 59, of West Grove, was cited following a two-car crash in East Marlborough Township on Feb.4. According to the report, Hart was driving south in the right-hand lane on Route 1 but unsafely moved into the left-hand lane and struck a vehicle already in that lane. The accident happened south of School House Road, shortly before 10 p.m. No injuries were reported.
Kennett Square Police Department
• An arrest warrant was issued for Ricardo Teta-Bautista, 26, on March 12 for an Oct. 19, 2024, incident in which he allegedly smacked a woman in the face causing redness and swelling on their left cheek, a police report said. Charges were filed at District Court 15-3-04. This incident is pending a preliminary hearing.
• Borough police said Colin Smith, 19, of West Chester, was taken into custody for suspected DUI and refusal to submit a chemical test of his breath. According to the report, officers observed a sedan going down E. State Street at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was initiated and, the report said, police observed indicators suggesting intoxication, and field sobriety tests showed impairment. He was processed and later released pending issuance of a summons. The incident happened at 1:55 a.m. on March 3. Charges were filed in District Court 15-3-04.
