Spring is Coming by Victor Mordasov at Square Pear Gallery

Love and color are in the cards for galleries, museums, and creative spaces throughout the Brandywine Valley in February. From landscapes of Maine to spring scenes, sharing knowledge, and sending a message, there are fantastic experiences for art lovers all month long!

2024 marks 25 years since the Kuerner Farm became part of the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art. They are celebrating with a new exhibition, Karl J. Kuerner: The Continuity of Creativity, showcasing Kuerner’s works and his impact on the local art community. Also see the last days of Abstract Flash: Unseen Andrew Wyeth through Feb. 19 (learn more in this article) and Rooted: Family and Nature in Contemporary Children’s Book Illustration through Feb. 25 (more information in this article). The Abington Art Center presents its Art History Lecture Series through February and March. In February, in honor of Black History Month, learn more about the Harlem Renaissance in Before to Beyond. Lectures will be held on Wednesdays, Feb. 7, 14, and 21, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. While there, check out the 2024 Winter Solo Series, on view through Feb. 26. Learn more in this article. The Art Trust presents original art by uber-realistic clay sculptor Victor Spinski in Inspired, as well as from artists inspired by his work, through Feb. 9. Then experience Shapes, a group exhibition focusing on two-dimensional form and color, on view from Feb. 14 through March 22. An Exhibit Reception will be held Feb. 16 from 5 to 8 pm, and an Artists’ Talk will be held on March 7 from 7 to 8 p.m. The Art Trust is located at 16 West Market Street, West Chester. 2024 Wilmington Flower Show Print by Dina du Pont at Station Gallery

See artwork by 2024 Wilmington Flower Market Artist Dina du Pont at The Station Gallery, as well as a Group Show with artists Molly Carpenter, Monique Sarkessian, Temre Stanchfield, and Helena van Emmerik-Finn, on view through Feb. 24. Get rolling at Skate Scene: Art Inspired by Skate Culture at Media Arts Council. With works by skate legends and local artists, there are over 100 pieces on view through Feb. 18. The MAC Arts Center is located at 11 E. State Street, Media. More information can be found at MediaArtsCouncil.org.

The Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center is refocusing on its gallery space and bringing in fantastic installations in 2024. Refresh yourself with Water Ways, an exhibition celebrating and exploring water at the Community Arts Center. This juried exhibition is on view from Feb. 3 through March 8, and a Reception will be held Feb. 4 from 2 to 4 pm. The Community Arts Center is located at 414 Plush Mill Road in Wallingford. Red Mandala at Corner Art Collective

Monochrome is on view at the Corner Art Collective for The Red Show, opening on Feb. 24. All pieces will be dominated by shades of red, with highlights of black and white only. Beauty is Inside and Out in the new exhibition at Square Pear Gallery, with 70 paintings from 14 local artists. This show is on view through February. The Square Pear Gallery is located at 200 East State Street, Kennett Square. More information can be found at SquarePearGallery.com.

5 am Walk by Fred Danziger at Gallery 222

Artists of the Brandywine have had a connection to Maine for well over a century. Celebrate the dramatic scenery as painted by nine local artists at Gallery 222 at The “Maine” Event II, on view from Feb. 22 through March 9. An Artist Reception will be held Feb. 24 from 2 to 5 pm. At the Chester County Art Association, Materials and Messages brings together sixteen artists with works from individuals and private collections in the Allinson Gallery, representing various mediums, techniques, and subjects. In the Huston Gallery, Dane Tilghman’s solo show A Poem Called American Me is on view. An Opening Reception will be held Thursday, Feb. 8 from 5 to 7 pm, and a Gallery Talk will be held on Feb. 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Both shows will be on view through Feb. 29. The Betsy Meyer Memorial Exhibition 20th Anniversary Retrospective features over forty artists from past exhibitions, different generations, and various artistic backgrounds at the Main Line Art Center.
