State police are investigating the theft of a set of wheels and tires stolen from a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee belonging to David Dodge. The wheels and tires are valued at. $1,200. They were stolen sometime during the overnight hours between Jan. 10 and 11.

Police arrested two men from Delaware for shoplifting at Wegmans on Jan. 28. Police identified the two as Junior Walters, 38, of Middletown, and Michael Penn, 34, of Wilmington. They are accused of stealing $456 worth of groceries.

A 23-year-old woman from Glen Mills had her purse stolen from her car on Evergreen Drive in Concord Township on Jan. 10. Police said an unknown suspect smashed a car window to gain entry, then stole the purse and other items before fleeing the area.

State police are investigating a harassment case where a male attempted to strike a female and held her down by her wrists. The incident happened Jan. 20 in Painters Crossing.

Avondale Barracks

Daniel P. Krampert, 56, of Mayfield, Del., was charged with driving too fast following a two-car crash in Pennsbury Township, according to a police report. The accident happened at 12:26 a.m. on Jan. 16 at the intersection of E. Street and Lenape roads. According to the report, Krampert driving east on E. Street Road but was unable to stop for a red light because of snow cover. The other car, driven by Anthony M. Johnson Jr., 32, of Lansdowne, was in the intersection heading south on Lenape Road and struck Karmpert’s car. Johnson was charged for not having the required financial responsibility.

A 38-year-old woman from Nottingham was arrested for DUI In East Marlborough Township on Jan. 28. The report said troopers we responding to a call about an erratic driver on E. Baltimore Pike.

Police said Nicholas R. Odorisio Jr., 62, of West Chester, was charged with speeding in Pocopson Township on Jan. 27. According to the police report, Odorisio failed to negotiate a left-hand curve on Lenape Road south of Parkerville Road, ran off the road hitting an embankment and a tree. The vehicle, a 2014 Honda CFR, had to be towed but the driver was not injured, police said.

Kyle A. Rodgers, 33, of Christiana, was charged with following too closely following a two-car crash on Doe Run Road in West Marlborough Township on Jan. 25, police said. The accident happened at 4:13 p.m. just north of an unnamed street. According to the report, both vehicles were traveling east on Route 82 when Rodgers crashed into the rear of the other vehicle. No injuries were reported.

One passenger was injured, and the driver was charged with driving too fast in a Jan. 15 one-car accident on Route 1 near its intersection with Fairville Road. Police identified the driver as Jennifer D. Atwood, 50, of Lincoln University. Neither the driver nor a third occupant, a 9-year-old boy, were injured. Longwood Fire Co. transported the other occupant, a 74-year-old woman, to Christiana Hospital for a possible injury. According to the police report, Atwood was driving north approaching Fairville when she lost control of her car and struck a concrete barrier on the right side of the road, crossing the center raised median and curb, before coming to rest and blocking both northbound lanes.

Police said a 57-year-old man, Robert C. Mastnjak, of West Chester, was taken to Chester County Hospital after a tree fell on the Dodge Ram 2500 he was driving on W. Street Road near Mill Road in East Marlborough Township. The accident happened at 7:07 p.m. on Jan. 9.

Police said speed was the cause of a one-vehicle crash on Parkerville Road in Pennsbury Township on Jan. 6. The report said Megan I. Clark, 18, was driving north on Parkerville just north of Fern Hill Road, but lost control of the 2015 GMC Acadia. The vehicle slid off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

State police are investigating a report of a jewelry theft in Pennsbury Township. Police said a couple in their 60s said an engagement ring, a wedding ring, an anniversary ring, and an engraved Rolex watch were missing. The estimated value of the jewelry totals $43,505.

A 30-year-old woman from Oxford was arrested for stealing $16.76 worth of merchandise from the East Marlborough Walmart on Jan. 3. The suspect was not identified in the report.

Police are investigating the theft of $1,735 worth of merchandise from the East Marlborough Walmart on Dec. 31. The police report said two suspects fled in a black SUV.

A 52-year-old woman from Sewell, N.J. was arrested for DUI following a one-car crash on Route 1 in Pennsbury Township at 7:14 p.m. on Dec. 28. No other details of the incident were in the report.

Police said Holly Nathan, 53, of Lewistown, Pa., was arrested for stealing more than $4,600 worth of merchandise from the Walmart in East Marlborough Township on Dec. 23. There was no mention of what was taken.

A 16-year-old boy was charged for his involvement in a two-car crash on E. Street Road in East Marlborough Township on Jan. 27. Police said the teenage driver was heading south on Wollaston Road, stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Wollaston and E. Street, but began making a left turn on to E. Street, and turned in front of a car heading west.

Kennett Square Police Department

Borough police said they arrested Miranda Reilly for DUI on Jan. 18 in the 300 block of E. State Street after the car she was driving overturned. Upon arriving at the scene, officers said they observed indicators suggesting intoxication, and that field sobriety tests showed impairment. She was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and submitted to a chemical test of his breath, resulting in a blood alcohol level of 0.159 percent. Reilly was processed and later released pending issuance of a summons.

On Jan. 23, District Court 15-3-04 issued an arrest warrant for Arturo Melendez-Betancourt, 41, of Coatesville, on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment, police said. According to the report, the warrant was issued because of an altercation during which he allegedly struck a male family member in the head and ribs, while another family member held him down. The incident occurred on Jan. 14, at approximately 12:03 a.m., in the 300 block of S. Union Street. Police said they observed the victim of the altercation, who was bleeding profusely from his nose and had blood on his face, chest and hands.
