Police Log May 5: Theft of service, fatal crash

Police are investigating a theft of services case involving Team Toyota in Concord Township. A report said the dealership filed a complaint in April that a person — not identified in the report — agreed to a long-term car rental but failed to pay after having the vehicle for six months. The value is estimated at $7,230.

Avondale Barracks

A 53-year -old Pocopson Township woman told police that the landscaper she retained to work on her Pulaski Drive property had charged her twice through two different Venmo Accounts. The police report said she tried to settle the matter directly with the contractor but to no avail. The suspect said he had no access to either account, according to the report. The amount in question is $1,200. The complaint was filed on April 17; police are investigating.

Kennett Square Police Department

Borough police said an arrest warrant was issued for Michelle Minniti, 33, of Coatesville, for theft. According to the report, Minniti rented a 2020 Altima from Hertz on Dec. 16, but the car was not returned on the due date. The car was reported stolen, and in April, it was found in the parking lot at the Walmart in Oxford.

Kennett Township Police department

Township police are looking to identify the victim of a fatal car crash on April 22. According to the report, a vehicle traveling west on E. Baltimore Pike left the roadway at a high rate of speed, and the vehicle caught fire. One victim was found in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident happened at 1:12 a.m. Anyone with any information is asked to call Kennett Township police at 610-388-2874.
