Police Log Feb 19: Retail thefts, marijuana possession, car shot

A motorist, unidentified in the report, was cited for following too closely following a two-vehicle rear-ender crash on Route 202 near Spring Hill Farm Road on Feb. 14. The accident happened at 7:33 p.m. No injuries were reported.

 Someone stole two bottles of liquor — valued at $110 — from the Fine Food and Good Spirits shop in the Brandywine Mills complex on Route 202. The incident took place on Jan. 7.

 Police are investigating a case of criminal mischief that happened on Jan. 8. A 2012 Subaru Impreza was shot in its passenger-side mirror on Applied Bank Boulevard.

Avondale barracks

Police said a 24-year-old man from Avondale, was injured in a two-vehicle crash. Mark D. Williams, police said, was also cited for speeding. The second driver, Michael P. Stein, 51, of Wilmington, was also injured. According to the report, the crash happened on W. Street Road near Brinton’s Bridge Road in Pennsbury Township on Feb. 11 shortly before 8:30 a.m. Details of the crash were incomplete in the report. Williams as transported to Chester County Hospital; Stein was taken to Christiana.

 Linda Rosa, 68, of Oxford, was arrested on retail theft charges, according to a police report. The report said Rosa stole almost $280 worth of food from the Walmart in East Marlborough Township on Feb. 8.

 On Feb. 1, police arrested an 18-year-old man from Newark for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on E. Doe Run Road at Pheasant Run.

 Police said they arrested a 35-year-old woman from Kennett Square for retail theft on Jan. 25. The accused reportedly under-rang merchandise at the self-checkout lane at the Walmart in East Marlborough Township. After she was fingerprinted and released, police discovered she provided false identification.

 A Jan. 9 traffic stop in Pennsbury Township led to the arrest of a 26-year-old Philadelphia man on drug charges. The report said the arresting trooper made the stop after witnessing a traffic violation on Route 1 at Ponds Edge Drive. After approaching the vehicle, the trooper said he smelled marijuana. A search revealed a small amount of cannabis and some paraphernalia. The driver was not identified in the report.
