Media Barracks

On Nov. 22, a 70-year-old Concord Township woman called police to say her car — a 2022 white Acura RDX — had been stolen. Police said the unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked garage on Century Lane.

State police from the Media barracks are investigating the theft of more than $16,000 worth of clothing taken from Lululemon on Nov. 27. The report said five men wearing black jackets, gray sweatpants, and facial coverings stole the items and fled in two vehicles, a white Pontiac sedan with temporary Delaware tags, and a black Dodge Durango with. Tennessee tags.

Police said they arrested a 55-year-old Glen Mills man with assault following a reported domestic dispute. Police said they saw recent physical injuries to the 40-year-old woman victim. The case remains under investigation.

Police said they arrested Carl Simpson, 54, of Wilmington, on theft charges. According to the report, Simpson is accused of stealing $4,470 worth of eyeglass frames from Lens Crafters on Route 202. The theft took place on Nov. 8.

Anthony Borsuk, 58, of Drexel Hill, was arrested for DUI according to state police. The report said troopers made the traffic stop after seeing the vehicle swerving on Route 1 near Cheyney Road. The incident happened at 7:23 p.m. on Nov. 12.

Cierra Carlton, 29, of Wilmington, was arrested for DUI in Chadds Ford Township on Nov. 12, a police report said.  The traffic stop and arrest were made at 3:13 a.m. on Route 202 near Dilworthtown Road. No reason for the stop was given in the report.

Avondale Barracks

Police are investigating a case of criminal mischief in Pennsbury Township. A report said an unknown suspect, or suspects, caused $3,000 worth of damage to a tractor at Cossart and Stockford roads.

Vamuya M. Kenneh, 69, of Coatesville, was cited for his involvement in a two-car crash on School House Road in East Marlborough Township on Dec. 5, police said. According to the report, Kenneh was driving east on School House and made a left turn into the Walmart parking lot without yielding the right of way to oncoming traffic, and then striking an oncoming vehicle. Both cars had to be towed from the scene, but no injuries were reported.

Police arrested a 34-year-old woman from Lincoln for DUI on Dec. 5. No reason for the traffic stop was given in the report. The stop was made at 9:38 p.m. on Route 1 at N. Union Street in East Marlborough Township.

State police are investigating a report of a missing firearm in East Marlborough Township. The owner of the firearm reported the gun missing on Dec. 6 and said it was last seen in a backpack three weeks earlier.

A 36-year-old man from Aston was arrested for DUI in East Marlborough Township on Dec. 10. Police did not identify the suspect, but said the arrest came at 2:01 a.m. after the suspect’s vehicle was seen driving behind some closed businesses on Beechwood Drive near Maple Drive. The report said the driver and two passengers showed signs of drug impairment.

State police are investigating the theft of $65 worth of Christmas decorations stolen from the CVS in East Marlborough Township. According to the report, store employees told police that a white man came into the store, stole a $30 Nutcracker Christmas ornament, left the store but then reentered and stole an artificial tree valued at $35.

Kennett Square Police Department

Borough police said Piyush Narkhede, 32, of Upper Darby, was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses after the 2006 Audi he was driving was stopped for failing to maintain its lane of travel and other traffic infractions. The incident occurred on Nov. 23, at approximately 10:10 p.m., at State Street and S. Union Street. Upon making contact with Narkhede, police said they observed indicators suggesting intoxication, and field sobriety tests showed impairment. Narkhede was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and submitted to a chemical test of his breath, resulting in a blood alcohol level of 0.291 percent.

An arrest warrant was issued on Dec. 5 for Juan Castro-Fernandez for harassing unidentified victims. According to the report, police conducted a recorded interview and were shown multiple texts and phone calls from Castro-Fernandez in which he was calling victims derogatory names and threatening them and their significant other. The victim had also advised Castro-Fernandez would coincidently call when they were arriving home, leaving home, or in the middle of the night when a light in the residence would turn on or off.
