Chadds Ford in brief

During the Aug. 30 Board of Supervisors' workshop in Chadds Ford Wednesday, supervisors granted special event permits for two events at the Chadds Ford Historical Society. The society received permits for the Battle of Chadds Ford and for the Great Pumpkin Carve.

The Battle of Chadds Ford is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16 and 17. The Great Pumpkin Carve will be Thursday through Saturday, Oct.19-21.

Supervisors also approved a Certificate of Appropriateness for the Brandywine Conservancy and Museum of Art to expand the courtyard at the museum by using fill to regrade the main entrance to the courtyard so that the entrance can be ADA-compliant and used by people in wheelchairs. (See story here.) The Certificate of Appropriateness was recommended by the HARB.

The board also appointed Constable and Fire Marshal Phil Wenrich to be roadmaster through the end of this year.
